A decent points haul for both Dennis Hauger and Jack Doohan from the Knockhill round of the British F4 Championship but both Red Bull Juniors wanted a lot more after their recent winning weekends.

Australian 15-year-old Doohan put himself on the podium in Race 1 but with ninth and sixth from the remaining races the Arden driver left the track on Sunday evening rather frustrated. "Not the weekend I was hoping for. We had pretty promising pace, quickest in free practice and then in qualifying P3 and less than half a tenth off pole. So the pace was there."

"In Race 1 it was all pretty tight, all three of us at the front running similar pace and it just wasn't possible to get close enough to make a pass, so ended up as we started, P3."

Rain on Sunday

"In the wet Race 2 I didn't get the best start, then Jewiss (points leader Kiern Jewiss) ran wide and cut back into me and spun us around. It was just a racing incident in those conditions, very wet."

"Then Race 3 was another wet race, not the best start, running side by side with my team mate (Seb Priaulx) into turn 2, I don't know if he didn't see me in the wet but he left me no room and that spun us. I set the fastest lap coming through but still it was only P6, not what we wanted from the weekend when we were fast enough to be at least on the podium in all three races," concluded Doohan.

Not a happy Hauger

"Really overall, totally..... I'm not happy with the race weekend," stated Norwegian 15-year-old Hauger. "We had so many issues, right from the beginning trying to stop the car bumping so much across the kerbs, we had that issue in the test on Tuesday and had it right through to the last race today."

Qualifying did not go that well and Hauger was given a 5 place grid penalty for his collision with Doohan in Race 3 at Rockingham so started 11th. "In Race 1 I didn't want to be starting from the back obviously but I was the only driver who was doing any overtaking so that was good experience and I got up to seventh, I don't think we could do much more."

Experience

"In Race 2 I got pushed off by another driver, my car got damaged and I had to pit for a new wing so again driving through to fifth was not too bad."

"In Race 3 I got a pretty good start but Jack and another driver came together in front of me so I had to go into the gravel to avoid them and I had to come back from seventh to fourth and got close to the podium but not close enough."

"We weren't where we want to be all weekend, we should be racing up the front but we didn't have it this time. I learnt a lot and I've just got to take that experience and go on," added Hauger.
