#33 Jack Doohan (AUS – Arden Ford)
British F4 Championship position: 3rd – 101 points – after 9 of 30 races (1st Rookie)
#24 Dennis Hauger (NOR – Arden Ford)
British F4 Championship position: 6th – 74 points – after 9 of 30 races (2nd Rookie)
On Tuesday, the second day of testing at Croft, Red Bull Juniors Jack Doohan, the Australian who was quickest and Norwegian Dennis Hauger second, were split by just three thousandths of a second. The 15-year-old Arden drivers have clearly been the best newcomers in the British F4 Championship this season and will be challenging to come out on top overall in the three races at Oulton Park this weekend.
Doohan snatched his first victory last time out at Thruxton and Hauger has narrowly missed his first win at both Donington and Thruxton.
"It was a good two days," explained Doohan. "I got my game together quite well and we were happy with the car. On the second day we tried a few things, looking for race pace which was good and we also tried something in the car which wasn't right but that's OK, that's what we were there for."
"For this weekend at Oulton I think I can still improve, I'm happy with the way things have been going since the start of the year so we just keep working," concluded the Australian
Hauger just the same
Not surprisingly Hauger was just as content. "Yes it was a good couple of days at Croft. I think that we got things very well sorted out both me and the car and I think that we are ready for the race weekend at Oulton Park. We don't have a lot of work still to do, it's just down to the details really."
"I am happy with things, It is so close between the drivers at the front that it is so important to put the perfect lap together in qualifying. Overtaking is never easy so the qualifying is important but I think we are well prepared so it should be a good weekend."
