How can I join the Red Bull Junior Team?
Becoming a member of the Red Bull Junior Team depends on many aspects such as driving/racing skills, talent, passion, experience, performance, personality and of course a little bit of luck.

How are the juniors selected?
In general, our external experts are constantly observing the motorsport scene, particularly karting and many of the junior formulae such as Formula BMW, Formula Renault 2.0 etc. to get an overview of new racing talents.
If necessary, the potential drivers are invited to attend a selection event together with the existing juniors, where they have to prove themselves in equal cars on the same track. Based on the testing results as well as on the previous season's performance of the existing Red Bull Juniors the final decisions are made.

Can I apply for a test to enter the Red Bull Junior Team programme?
A direct application for the Red Bull Junior Team is not possible. In general, our external experts are constantly observing the motorsport scene particularly karting and many of the junior formulae such as Formula BMW, Formula Renault 2.0 etc. Therefore, we gain a very good overview of driver performance.

What is the first step to become a F1 driver?
The experience gained from the Red Bull Junior Team, which was founded in 1999, has shown that it is necessary to start racing at a young age, e.g. in karting, and to follow the stairway through junior formulae to make it to the pinnacle of motorsports: Formula 1.

Why is the Red Bull Junior Team not involved in Karting?
Although our external experts are observing the kart scene constantly it is difficult to screen real talents due to the density of young drivers, different chassis, tyres and engines as well as the huge variety of the diverse championships, cups and classes, making it impossible to compare on an equal basis.

Why does the Red Bull Junior Team support just a few drivers?
The declared aim of the Red Bull Junior Team is to bring out potential future Formula 1 drivers. Due to the fact that there are only a few seats available in F1 and limited resources obtainable, we have to focus on an extremely select group of drivers.

What is the ideal age to start in junior formulae?
The current members of the Red Bull Junior Team are aged between 14 and 20 which is appropriate and representative with regards to the introduction age for Formula 1.

Can I enter the Red Bull Junior Team without any driving experience?
No. The Red Bull Junior Team starts its activities in junior formulae which definitely requires experience in karting or other established racing series.

Can I work for the Red Bull Junior Team?
The Red Bull Junior Team does not run its own racing team. It is a pool of drivers who are competing within existing race teams in various series. Hence, we do not employ the people running the divers teams that the juniors drive for.
