#21 Pierre Gasly (FRA – Prema Dallara-Mecachrome)
GP2 Series: 4th – 45 points – after 6 of 22 races
After enjoying himself in the 2012 World Championship winning RB8 last week at Goodwood, Pierre Gasly is now at the Red Bull Ring readying himself for the fourth GP2 event of the season.
The 20-year-old Frenchman had a few days of fun before flying to Vienna. "Goodwood really was great, I did it last year as well, fantastic to see all those bikes and cars and so many wonderful characters. So special to drive the championship winning RB8, just relax and enjoy it, fabulous."
Down to business
"It's a busy month and I am ready to go racing. This weekend will be very exciting at the Red Bull Ring. A new surface which is a question mark for everyone of course until you get some good data. Looking at the F3 event a few weeks ago the lap should be quicker, with more grip but perhaps there will be more tyre degradation."
"Whatever it is, it is the same for everyone, we just have to be quicker than the others to get the data and make use of it. We'll find out a lot in free practice and we have to be well organised to cary out our plan and get the car set up for qualifying."
Go go go
"There is no question about speed, we have had that since pre season testing. Just get it right and stay out of trouble, we should have a great weekend. We need to set the good rhythm for the next few weeks with Silverstone, Hungaroring and Hockenheim following," concluded the Red Bull Junior.
