#21 Pierre Gasly (FRA – Prema Dallara-Mecachrome)
GP2 Series: 8th – 47 points – after 8 of 22 races
Only the smallest pause for Red Bull Junior Pierre Gasly between the back to back GP2 events at the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone this coming weekend. The 20-year-old Frenchman is very much looking forward to just his second visit to the classic Grand Prix venue.
"Yes I really enjoyed it last year, it's a place that suits my style and I had one of my best weekends last year at the British GP," recalls Gasly who drove through from P6 on the grid to fourth in Race 1 and charged again from P5 to third in Race 2.
Well prepared as ever
"With so little time between the races we did the sim work for Silverstone before last weekend and I have also had prep time with the team. We'll sit down again at Silverstone but we know very well what we have to do."
"It's a high speed track and now that we use the DRS we can run a little more downforce because the DRS is going to take it off when we need it. It's both a technical and challenging track with all those famous corners so I am really looking forward to it," enthused the Prema driver.
"It is also quite a low deg track, quite easy on the tyres so it's possible to push more than at some places. Of course that is what I like and another reason I am looking forward to going back there."
"I picked up good points last year and as we showed last weekend we are very competitive so I'm expecting this year to be even better," concluded Gasly.
