Hauger leads Doohan

Hauger and Doohan the men to beat at Croft

#33 Jack Doohan (AUS – Arden Ford)
British F4 Championship position: 3rd – 137 points – after 12 of 30 races (1st Rookie)

#24 Dennis Hauger (NOR – Arden Ford)
British F4 Championship position: 4th – 117 points – after 12 of 30 races (2nd Rookie)

Heading to Croft for the British F4 Championship, Norwegian Dennis Hauger and Australian Jack Doohan, the 15-year-old Red Bull Juniors, are naturally full of confidence. A couple of weeks ago the two Arden drivers headed the second day of testing at the same venue, split by just three-thousandths of a second.

"We are looking forward to a great weekend," grinned the Aussie. "Oulton Park was good, we turned things around after starting off on the back foot and now are fully focused on Croft where we had a really good test."

No rest

"Of course there are still bits to work on, still things to do myself," continued Doohan. "I wasn't quickest in every section so I've got to learn how to get the best out of the car, to adapt when we make a change that works well in a couple of sectors, how am I going to use the car in the sector where that setting perhaps isn't perfect."

"So there is still plenty to work on but we are going there very confident that we have a good setting both for qualifying and the race and I'm very excited about it."

Another win?

After his overdue first victory at Oulton Park, Hauger is looking forward to more excellent results. "Yes the test was good, we fount a few bits on the car which really helped so I am certainly looking forward to the weekend. There are still a few spots I can work on, turn one for example, I can do better on the braking technique, carry more corner speed through there, some things to work on but I think we are starting with a really good set-up."

"It looks like it is a good track for racing, not easy to pass but perhaps two or three spots where you might send it as a surprise so we'll see," smiled Hauger. The pair head the Rookies points table but both have their eyes on the overall championship as the first half of the British F4 season concludes this weekend.
