After a run of three pretty faultless weekends Richard Verschoor's Castrol Toyota Series campaign stumbled a little in round four at Taupo in New Zealand's North Island. The sixteen-year-old Dutchman lost the points lead for the first time as he picked up an 8th, 6th and 7th.
With the final round at Manfeild promising three more races there is still everything to play for and the Red Bull Junior can't wait to get started. "Yes, I just want to forget about this weekend, it's probably the worst of my career and I just want to get on with the final round."
Pick a positive
"I don't know what was wrong, the pace wasn't there all weekend. I did everything I could and I don't think I could have got much more out of the situation. If I have to pick a good point it was the last race, the pace wasn't there but I defended all the way and even though the guy behind was a second a lap quicker and won yesterday, he never got past and the whole team were happy with the way I fought for the twenty laps."
"Other than that it wasn't good, we never found out why I was struggling so much, the car, me, probably my lack of experience. It can happen and you've just got to live with it and learn from it. Certainly I'll take Race 3 as a good experience and remember that," concluded Verschoor who now lies second in the points, 27 adrift.
