Front running pace all weekend did not net Red Bull Junior Dennis Hauger all the accolades due the 16-year-old Norwegian. Quickest from the start of free practice, the Van Amersfort Racing driver would have sat on pole for Races 1 and 2 but was demoted ten places as a penalty for two infringements in free practice and thus started Race 1 from 11th.

Undeterred Hauger stormed through to an excellent third in Race 1. "Yes the pace was really good all weekend. I thought the grid penalty was a bit hard but that's the way it is and I got a good start in Race 1 and went for it. I think I had the right sort of controlled aggression and was doing a lot of passing. I really was the only one passing like that this weekend and on a track where it is very hard to pass. So I was happy to get third from P11."

Carrying the speed through Sunday

"Race 2 was in mixed conditions, I got on the green and went off track. Then it was drying and we stopped for slicks under the safety car but we did it a lap late and it didn't leave me enough time to catch up."

"In Race 3 the tyres were a bit done after Race 1 but I was managing the situation. Then I got hit from behind, I don't know what the guy thought he was doing, I got spun around plus I got a puncture out of it. So I stopped for a new tyre, was a lap down and just went for it again, passing a lot of guys, really going, but of course I was coming from a long way back."

"So that was the weekend, the speed was there, I know I made a couple of mistakes and I was a bit unlucky but there are plenty of good points to carry forward. It is the Italian championship next weekend so I'll just keep my head up, keep calm, it's a long season," concluded Hauger.
