#7 Jack Doohan (AUS – Pinnacle Motorsport Tatuus Alfa Romeo)
F3 Asian Championship position: 2nd – 47 points – after 3 of 15 races
After taking a win and a second in opening round of the F3 Asian Championship back in December, Jack Doohan aims to start 2020 with that as a launch pad for his title chase. A handful of wins in Dubai would be cause for a great early birthday celebration for the Australian Red Bull Junior who turns 17 on January 20th.
As the three races are run alongside the 24 Hour of Dubai they are scheduled earlier in the week than usual and Doohan started off in great style by heading Wednesday's test session in his Pinnacle Motorsport Tatuus Alfa Romeo.
"Yes the weekend has started well," enthused Doohan. "It was good, at least the day ended well being quickest. In the first session we had a couple of issues and I wasn't able to do many laps. But my team mates did OK and Pietro (Fittipaldi) has kind of a similar driving style to me. So it is good him being fairly fast here so we can get a good team set-up."
"It worked out well after we had our problems sorted. It is my first time here and I like the track. It is interesting with some elevation changes, off camber in turn one then another section is banked and there are quite a few bumps around which makes it tricky and interesting."
"It should be a good weekend," he concluded.
