F3 - Sérgio Sette Câmara with Carlin in Macau

#27 Sérgio Sette Câmara (BRA – Carlin Dallara-VW)

A great end of season event for Sérgio Sette Câmara, joining the Carlin team for the F3 Macau Grand Prix. The Red Bull Junior returns to the iconic street circuit as lap record holder after an impressive debut last season.

"It is a fantastic event and I can't wait to get back. Last year I started pretty slow, was eight or nine seconds off the pace but kept progressing and ended up with the record," enthused the 18-year-old Brazilian.

Well prepared

"This time I plan to start off nearer the front," he continued with his classic beaming smile. "I've had some really good time in the Carlin sim, it's different to other sims, gives me a great feeling for the car and the circuit, I think it's going to help me have a good start when I get on track."

"I've got a supper team behind me, they really know Macau," continued Sette Câmara and the record books back him up. Carlin have competed there since 1988, winning twice; with Takuma Sato in 2001 and with Antonio Felix da Costa in 2012. Felix da Costa went on to take second as a Red Bull Junior in 2013 as pictured above. Felipe Nasr, Brendon Hartley and Robert Kubica have also been on the podium for Carlin.

No longer a Rookie

"I didn't end up with the race result I wanted last year, I was running around 6th, 7th in qualifying and in the final. Unfortunately in the final, had a touch with another car, got a puncture and had to come in to take an old front right, went out again and that was when I got the record."

"I think that running towards the front last year wasn't bad for a Rookie and with more experience and the support of Carlin I think that we can really do something this year," he concluded.
