#5 Niko Kari (FIN – Arden)
GP3 Championship position: 10th – 36 points – after 13 of 15 races
#14 Dan Ticktum (GBR – Dams)
GP3 Championship position: 16th – 12 points – after 13 of 15 races (debut in race 11)
As winter closes in on Europe, Red Bull Juniors Niko Kari and Dan Ticktum escape to the United Arab Emirates for some warmth and the final two races of the GP3 season around the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Kari ready to race
"I'm really looking forward to the weekend," enthuses 18-year-old Finn Kari. "I flew to Dubai on Monday and will go to Abu Dhabi early so I'm fully acclimatised and ready for the final races of the season. It's seemed like a long wait since Jerez and I'm keen to get back out on the track."
"I'll be preparing on Thursday then we are on track with free practice and qualifying on Friday. Sure I'm going to push really hard to make the most out of qualifying and then in the races. These are the last races of the year so I'm going to make sure we get the results and finish on a high. We are going into the weekend in a really good mood."
Ticktum arrives as a winner
Fresh from his victory in the F3 GP at Macau 18-year-old Briton Ticktum has to change gear a little for the GP3 car and the Yas Marina circuit which is very different to the streets of last weekend. "I've done a lot of sim work both in the F1 and GP3 so I feel very well prepared even though I've never been there," states Ticktum.
"I'm massively looking forward to it. Abu Dhabi is completely to Jerez and Monza where I have raced the GP3 car but I think that Dams have shown that they've got a really good car. If it works as well as it has at our last two races I'll be looking to be on the podium."
