Another excellent weekend of Asian F3 success for Jack Doohan netted him a win and two seconds in his ongoing battle with Hitech Grand Prix team mate Ukyo Sasahara. After six races he stands second in points, 14 behind his team mate.

"Yes it was good weekend, great to get the win in Race 2. I didn't really get the best start and had to defend from Pieris into Turn 1. Luckily, I got a good exit and was able to try and have a go at Ukyo then. He defended well."

"I worked myself into the right position and then got him going into the hairpin. I concentrated on not overcooking it. When things settled a bit I pushed and was able to get away. I opened up a gap OK"

Not every time

"I couldn't do the same thing in Race 3. I got passed by Leitch, I got ahead of him again but by then Yukio was off down the road and I didn't have the pace to catch up."

"With the tyre allocation you are not going to be in a great situation in all three races. You have a strategy with your team to make the best of it. Plus it depends how the race goes."

"When I got ahead in Race 2 I was in clear air, I was in good shape, everything works better. It was the other way around in Race 3, Ukyo got in the clean air and by the time I got clear in second I had overstressed the rears hard and couldn't catch him," stated Doohan.
