#21 Neil Verhagen (USA – Tech 1 Renault)
Formula Renault Eurocup championship position: 13th – 8 points – after 4 of 20 races
American 17-year-old Neil Verhagen heads to Silverstone's full Grand Prix circuit this weekend for the third event in the Formula Renault Eurocup season. The Red Bull Junior is confident that the travails of the earlier races are behind him.
"We are confident that we will be back to the preseason pace and can't wait to get on track. We ran at Pau last weekend in the NEC and though we had a couple of problems the pace was there and we are going to Silverstone with good data from last year."
"Silverstone is a very different track to the others on the calendar but we'll take bits that we learnt from Ricard and Monza to add to what we got from Silverstone last year. Plus I had time in the Red Bull sim earlier this week, it is a fantastic facility and I had my engineer with me from Tech 1 and that is a huge help."
"Renault discovered a problem and we will be running a new chassis at Silverstone, that could have been part of the issue. It's all part of the very hard work that we've been putting in since Monza. We are very well prepared and we are confident that we can get back to where we should be, running at the front."
