An excellent Hockenheim ADAC F4 weekend for Dennis Hauger with a superb win in Race 1 backed up by second in Race 2 to leapfrog from 9th to 3rd in the points standings. Fellow Red Bull Junior Jonny Edgar was in the heart of some intense battles in both races and was top Rookie in Race 1, finishing 9th.

Hauger happy with Hockenheim

"It was certainly a good weekend. From P5 to win in Race 1 then second in Race 2," enthused the 16-year-old Norwegian. "I think we can carry that into the next rounds so I am quite happy with that."

"With only two races this weekend it was not so much about tyre management, more about the changing grip levels with different temperatures and the other rubber put down by the F1 cars."

"That was the difference between Free Practice where I was fastest and Q1 where I struggled a bit after the F1 cars had been out and the temperature was lower. I didn't do a perfect job in Q1 but P2 in second qualifying was as much as I could get out of the car I think."

"In Race 1 I got a good start and we had very good pace, I could manoeuvre around the cars ahead, get the cut back to drive underneath for the overtake and it all worked out very well. It is a shame that my teammate went off at the end. I was ahead and on the outside, left him the room but you don't want that to happen to your teammate anyway."

"In Race 2 the start was great, nice to get ahead off the line. I then underestimated things a bit, I didn't think that he (Arthur Leclerc) could overtake from so far back but he did. He had the pace though then and the track was a little different today, I didn't quite have the same pace as Race 1 but still second is not too bad," concluded the Van Amersfoort Racing driver.

Edgar's education continues

"I think we did OK as we had only a few dry laps at our test and there was not much free practice this weekend." stated the 15-year-old Briton in his first formula season. "I was quite happy with 8th in first qualifying but the second wasn't so good. I didn't make any mistakes or anything but the others made less mistakes and got quicker."

"In the first race I was quite happy with the early part if the race, a good start and good early laps. I thought I could have a go at the cars ahead but after about 5 laps I wasn't making any progress. I think I kept the same pace but the others got quicker and I got caught from behind," explained the Jenzer Motorsport driver who was 7th until lap 11 of 17.

"In race 2 I had a couple of problems, a drive through penalty for something at the start and I was also forced onto the grass when someone spun in front of me and then as I went wide they started rolling back and I had to go off completely."
