#17 Jonny Edgar (GBR – Jenzer Motorsport Tatuus F.4 T014 Abarth)

The Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi is situated 32km north of Rome and is the venue for the opening round of the seven event Italian F4 championship. Red Bull Juniors Dennis Hauger and Jonny Edgar are both in action having started their F4 campaigns last weekend.

16-year-old Norwegian Hauger began the ADAC F4 series with great pace but didn't get all results he was looking for. Edgar, the 15-year-old Briton, embarked on his season with the Spanish F4 championship round at Paul Ricard and was right on the pace from the first day.

Hauger fast from the start

"We had a really good test here on Wednesday, we now have a day off so I am visiting Rome with my family," said Hauger on Thursday afternoon. "I think I was on top in all four sessions so that is really positive. Plenty of cars here, 34 for the test and I think 37 for the race weekend so there is a lot going on."

"We can still improve the car a bit I think, the team don't have so much experience here so we are still working on some things but I already have a good feeling."

"I am enjoying the track, the mid section is quite technical and I think it is a good track for me," concluded the Van Amersfoort Racing driver.

Ricard podiums for Jonny Edgar

"It was a great start to my season," said Edgar who took two second places and a third at Paul Ricard. "Honestly I didn't think I would be so competitive right from the start. I really enjoyed it and I learnt a lot. I think the Italian Championship will be tougher, more competitive."

"The car is basically the same, different brakes and tyres but the car doesn't feel so different," explained Edgar after Wednesday's test at Vallelunga. "I like the track here but we still need to do some work on the set-up. We were struggling a bit yesterday. We have Friday's free practice before qualifying starts," added the Jenzer Motorsport driver.
