#2 Jack Doohan (AUS – Hitech Grand Prix Tatuus Alfa Romeo)
F3 Asian Championship position: 2nd – 218 points – after 12 of 15 races
Returning to Shanghai, Jack Doohan is chasing the F3 Asian Championship at the final weekend of the season. Three weeks ago at the same venue the Red Bull Junior scored 4th, 3rd and 2nd but he was disappointed with that having had a couple of wins at Suzuka in the previous outing. The 16-year-old Australian needs the wins in China if he is to wrest the title from his Hitech Grand Prix teammate who has a 38-point advantage.
Doohan starting from a better place
"Obviously we weren't happy with the results last time here," admitted Doohan frankly. Last time in Shanghai was the only weekend this year that he has not had a win. "The team have gone over everything and have some good ideas. We've just had a meeting to lay out the way we are going to work it this weekend. I have also done my homework, studied the data and worked out what I've got to do."
"We've got two one hour test sessions on Thursday and then a Free Practice before Qualifying on Friday so we are in a much better situation than last time when we were new to it."
"Hopefully we are starting with a much better base and can build on it from there. It's very nice here at the moment not too hot and humid at all. It should be a great weekend."
