F3 Asian Championship position: 2nd – 173 points – after 9 of 15 races

Following his very impressive double victory weekend at Suzuka last time out in the F3 Asian Championship, Red Bull Junior Jack Doohan heads to Shanghai this weekend looking for more success so that he can close the points gap to his Hitech Grand Prix teammate who currently heads the title chase by just 8 points.

"It's going to be an interesting weekend," stated the 16-year-old Australian on Thursday afternoon. "It hasn't stopped raining since we got here so that could effect things. I've never been here before but of course I've been playing on F1 racing games since I was kid so I know which way the track goes but that's all. We didn't manage any real sim time but I've got some Free Practice sessions on Friday before Qualifying on Saturday so it should be OK.

"The first thing will be to switch on to the car again as it's a good couple of months since Suzuka but I don't think it will be a problem, the guys have got the car working very well and it's a lot of fun to drive."

"Most of the other drivers did a three day test here last week so they have a bit of an advantage to start with but as I said we are in a pretty good position with our car and we should be able to adapt quickly."
