ADAC Formel 4

Series Intro

ADAC F4 Germany Logo

With the launch of the Formula 4 series in Germany, the ADAC is ushering in a new era in single-seater racing. The entry-level series for budding young open-wheel racing drivers of the future replaces the Formel ADAC competition with effect from 2015.

The ADAC Formula 4 racing cars will line up on the grid running Abarth turbo engines and chassis from Italian manufacturer Tatuus. Italian premium tyre manufacturer Pirelli, who are well-known from Formula 1, will provide tyres for the junior series.

The first season of the ADAC Formula 4 gets under way in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of April 24th - 26th, 2015. SPORT1+ pay-per-view TV channel will broadcast live pictures from all the race weekends.

The ADAC single-seater youth development programme has long been a springboard for the motor racing stars of tomorrow. In the past, Formula 1 drivers such as four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, world championship runner-up Nico Rosberg, Nico H├╝lkenberg and Ralf Schumacher, and DTM stars including Martin Tomczyk, Pascal Wehrlein and Timo Glock all began their successful careers in ADAC open wheel series for juniors.
